TSA Crisis Deepens: Unpaid Officers Begin to Resign
Disruptions in salary payments for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel in the United States are directly impacting employees. Some TSA officers have started to resign from their positions, leading to long queues at security checkpoints and operational disruptions.
In a statement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), it was noted that due to the ongoing budget crisis, TSA personnel have been forced to work without pay for the third time in the past six months. The statement emphasized that the financial strain has placed a significant burden on employees, resulting in the resignation of more than 300 personnel.
These developments have once again brought federal budget and government shutdown debates to the forefront in the United States, raising concerns about the sustainability of critical transportation security operations.
